Why did I decide to teach mindfulness to kids? Passion. My life purpose is to use my talents and passion to help others, and I have the most passion for mindfulness.
My journey toward mindfulness began when I experienced several ailments: stress, sleeplessness, and headaches, all of which were the result of “What If” questions.
There had to be a better way to live than to worry about the hypothetical! I heard from a friend that mindfulness could help, so I began practicing. The year was 1998, and at the time I had no idea I had found a practice that would change my life so drastically (not to mention the lives of those around me). Mindfulness not only helped me ease my ailments, but it also taught me how to treat others better. Years later, I thought, I wish I had learned this when I was a kid!And that is exactly why I am here now: to share a practice that has changed my life with you and your child.
What makes me qualified to teach your child (aside from my experiences practicing mindfulness for over 18 years)? I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, over 12 years of professional experience in the education field, a Colorado Teaching Certificate (and several years of classroom teaching experience), over 5 years’ experience of volunteering as a tutor with the Literacy Project, and many years of experience as an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
